if comments are not showing up on, youtube for you on the youtube mobile, app or on youtube.com, there is usually two different reasons, one is related to, the settings on your specific channel, especially if it's happening to your own, videos, and the other one may be a glitch that, you could solve by removing cookies, and couple other things i'm gonna point, out so i wanted to cover, everything that could be wrong in one, video so you don't have to watch, multiple videos on this, so let's jump in and go step by step on, what you need to look at the first thing, i want you to do is, go to your channel on a desktop this one, is related to desktop or you could use, youtube studio the app for this but go, to youtube studios here when you're, logged into your channel, and go down to the bottom here and click, on settings, to bring up the settings menu and look, at, two different settings here if this is, happening to your own videos, the first one is under channel and go to, advanced settings here, and the very common issues that i've, seen on multiple channels, is if you make videos for kids and is, set to yes, this channel makes videos for kids if, this is set to this, or if you make videos for kids and you, have to set it to this, you will not have comments on that video, it just will not show up, this update has been around since 2020, so, kids videos videos made for kids will, not have a comment section, so if this is set to yes that's why you, don't have comments, the other option is under the community, tab, and if you go to the default settings, here, this may be set to comments or disabled, or all comments are held for review, if it's set to these you also won't see, your comments, now these are all related to your own, videos so far i'm going to show you what, happens if you don't see comments in, other people's videos, but check those two settings on your own, channel, to make sure these are not set to any, other things i just mentioned, now the other two you could do on the, desktop if you're not seeing comments on, chrome and you could do it on the mobile, app let me show you exactly what to do, there, go ahead and launch youtube the regular, youtube app here and then, press your profile picture on top to, come to the settings page, and on this page i want you to go to, settings here, and there's an option here under general, go to general and there's this thing, called restricted mode, if restricted mode is active there's, gonna be a lot of videos that are not, gonna have a comment section on it so if, by accident this is turned on here, make sure you turn it off but again this, may have a purpose for it beyond, comments right so you can read more, about that here, but this does limit significantly the, type of comments and the videos that, have comments, that will show up on youtube so that's, the third most frequent option and then, the last one, is sort of not related to youtube it's, actually a glitch that sometimes happens, within the youtube app, so all you have to do is just press and, hold down on the youtube app here, and you need to either remove the app, and reinstall it so for example, if you're using an android phone that's, the way to go about it, and then there's one last option i'll, show you here if you go to, if you're on the iphone for example if, you go to the settings of the phone here, the settings app here go there, and in the settings menu here all i want, you to do is, slide all the way to the very bottom of, this page and, usually the youtube app shows up on the, homepage here so if you go to the, youtube app, what may be happening is background app, refresh might be turned off which i, actually recommend people turn off in, most apps, but sometimes when a settings does get, changed, it is not refreshing in real time so, this may be causing a glitch for you, in that youtube setting specifically, that youtube setting, and if this doesn't fix it just download, the app again, after you get rid of the app so make, sure you know your login information, your username and password so when you, reinstall it, it may solve your problem that way or, just offload it and reinstall it, usually one of those five is the most, common reason, why you're not seeing a comment section, on someone's video or your own video so, try all five and then let me know in the, comment section if one of them was, helpful to you or if you need more help, thanks so much for watching i hope this, was helpful and i'll see you next time
