all right this is my official tutorial, on how you can upload 4k youtube shorts, now if you know anything about social, media or if you've been paying attention, to the social media landscape youtube, shorts are popping off right now and a, lot of people are gaining massive, followings overnight, i'm not but a lot of other people are, and if you've been on my youtube channel, before you know i'm really particular, about camera settings and application, settings to make sure that you get the, best quality out of whatever you're, producing so if you're interested in, that then definitely stick around and, yes just like the instagram tutorial, youtube also has a secret button that, you need to turn on in order to make, sure that your youtube shorts make it, onto youtube in 4k, dear youtube dear instagram i do not, understand why you guys keep hiding, these secret buttons in your, applications these should be on by, default, anyways if you guys want to know about, the secret button on youtube shorts then, stick around all right so to make sure, that your videos make it onto youtube, shorts in 4k there are three things that, you need to take care of so let's tackle, those now, the first one is all about output or, export resolution of your file now, youtube is a little bit different than, other social media platforms like, instagram and tech talk where you can't, really specify the exact resolution that, you want to watch or upload a video in, youtube totally lets you do this so make, sure that whenever you export your video, it is exported in a 4k format so if you, export in 1080p or any hd file format, and the 4k file doesn't exist youtube, source will actually never upload your, file in 4k because it can't read your, file in 4k now i'm going to have the, dimensions of what 4k is in a vertical, aspect ratio on the screen as i'm, talking so make sure whenever you guys, export your file from davinci resolve or, premiere pro or final cut pro 10 or even, cap cut or whatever application that, you're using just make sure that the 4k, option is available for youtube to read, so it can eventually process that 4k, information and display your video in 4k, all right so moving on to the second, thing that we need to do in order to, make sure that we get 4k youtube shorts, and by default youtube has the ability, for you to view 4k shorts completely, turned off and the reason for that is, that they want you to save your data on, your mobile device or your wi-fi network, or whatever you're watching on and not, have it on the highest level because, that obviously increases loading times, and the amount of data that you're using, on your device so in order to view our, 4k shorts we need to turn that button on, and the way you do that is that you head, into the settings in the youtube app and, you scroll down to video quality, preferences now you want to turn this up, all the way to higher picture quality, granted that you have a large enough, data plan for the data plan option and, definitely on for wi-fi assuming that, you have unlimited download capacity if, you don't have unlimited download, capacities i would be careful because 4k, video can eat up data very very quickly, but once you turn on this option now, you'll actually be able to view youtube, shorts in 4k and that only applies to, the youtube charts that have actually, been uploaded in 4k because if they're, not uploaded as 4k files you're only, ever going to see them as 1080p as i, just mentioned previously in point, number one so through points one and two, we've now exported a 4k file and we've, also turned on the ability to view 4k, files so now the last step is how we're, going to go ahead and upload our youtube, short and that secret button that we, need to turn on and finally moving on to, the third and final most important step, and the whole reason you guys clicked on, this video is to turn on that secret 4k, button in youtube shorts and honestly i, don't know why youtube doesn't have this, on by default it should because if you, have a 4k file it deserves to be seen in, 4k now the way you turn this button on, is the same thing you go into your, youtube app you click on settings and, then you go down and click on uploads, and then you click video quality now by, default this is going to be set to 1080p, you want to go ahead and you want to, change this to max quality and basically, this will make that 4k file that we, created in step number one actually, usable on youtube shorts and will upload, in 4k now the rest of the process from, here is really really simple for how you, want to upload your youtube short number, one you want to do it from the app if, you're uploading a youtube short so once, again open the youtube app click the, giant plus button at the bottom and, click on upload video do not click on, create a short click on upload a video, and this video should ideally already be, on your mobile device from there just, select the video make whatever changes, or modifications that you want to do and, go ahead and click upload it really is, that simple once you take care of those, three steps from the beginning and an, easy way to make sure and check that, your youtube short has actually made it, onto youtube as a 4k video is that you, can head into youtube studio you can go, ahead and you can try and edit that, youtube short within the youtube studio, on your desktop and you'll notice that, it has that 4k badge just like your, regular youtube videos do when you, upload them through your desktop and, this confirms that your video has made, it onto youtube shorts as a 4k video and, now your audience can view it in perfect, picture quality and that's it for this, video guys and hopefully that gives you, all the answers that you were looking, for for how you can upload youtube, shorts in crystal clear 4k now i know, i've been saying that i'm going to keep, uploading and be more consistent but, i've just been super super busy honestly, i need you guys to keep me accountable, find a way to get me to upload once a, week because there's a ton of knowledge, that i want to share with you guys now, again if you
