youtube started paying creators for, creating youtube shorts and i actually, got paid for the amount of youtube short, views that i had from last month in this, video i want to share with you exactly, how much money youtube paid me for, creating youtube shorts and then i'm, going to dive into the analytics and, show you well how many views were, required in order to make that amount of, money on august 9th i got an email from, youtube that said youtube shorts fund, congrats deeppocket monster this is the, channel where i am creating shorts based, on your shorts performance last month, you're eligible for 247 dollars and 23, cents when you get this email you click, on claim bonus you punch a couple, buttons and you connect your adsense, account if it's not already connected to, your youtube account and then, they're just going to add it to what you, get paid this is in addition to the, money that i would have already made on, youtube with my regular videos and any, memberships that might be on the channel, as well so as you can see i got paid 247, dollars and 24 cents for the views that, were earned through youtube shorts now, youtube shorts are similar to instagram, reels or tik tok they're 60 second or, less videos that youtube is sort of, pushing out pretty hard because they, want to compete with tick tock and, instagram reels now it arrived in the, u.s kind of in march and it was sort of, half baked it didn't really take on very, well but within a short period of time, it's actually picking up a ton of steam, youtube recently reported that shorts, are generating, 15 billion views per day that's nearly, three times the amount that youtube, normally gets per day on their regular, videos now a lot of people had questions, well how was youtube gonna monetize this, well they initiated something called the, youtube shorts fund and i'll link to all, these things below in the video but the, youtube shorts fund is essentially a, hundred million dollars that youtube is, contributing to this fund that then they, will allocate to different short, creators and by short i mean not, physically short although if that were, the case i'd have an advantage anyway, scratch that if you create youtube, shorts or the tick tock style videos on, youtube you are then eligible to receive, a part of this fund everybody's eligible, in my understanding you don't even need, a thousand subscribers as you can see, they're really promoting youtube shorts, right now which is why on my channel d, pocket monster we're using it quite, often in between our regular videos to, get a lot more views and even bring some, subscribers into here let me show you, the analytics so not everybody gets a, bonus as you can see i did get a bonus, email plus you'll see it here in your, studio if you get one but not everybody, gets it i'll go over the sort of what, they're looking for in just a moment but, i wanted to show you some of the, analytics so we can see okay for 247 how, many views did i need to get now the 247, says it's from july or last month from, the time i got the email but it's not, necessarily from just the videos that, were published during that month it's, any views for any shorts that were in my, own channel let's go to july then we're, going to go to reach had a nice little, pick up there at the end of the month, which is pretty cool i'm going to scroll, down as you can see the shorts feed is, actually the highest percentage of video, views across the entire channel let's, click on see more, and if we scroll down here as you can, see the shorts feed which doesn't count, as impressions like the regular videos, do but they are actually shown and these, videos were viewed four million seventy, four thousand nine hundred and fifty six, times eighty one percent of my views on, this channel were from shorts so four, million views for a couple hundred bucks, that might seem kind of crazy but what's, cool is these shorts if they get picked, up they can be seen by a load of people, let me show you a couple examples let's, go to video, and let's look at these this was a short, this was a short, this was a short this was a short this, was a short this was a short in fact my, top eight videos or actually seven, videos here were all youtube shorts as, far as traffic is concerned let's check, out this one here which was the one that, i published at the end of july and let's, look at the analytics of that, now check this out it started off very, slow in fact just a few thousand a day, and then it just picked up like mad, seeing 200 000 that day 125 000 that day, the next day 215 and then 269, 000 views in a single, day just picked up like crazy because it, uses a similar algorithm that tick-tock, and instagram reels has this video in, total has had 2.3 million views but that, doesn't even compare to one of my other, videos let's go back and go to this, scammed one where i reveal a scammed, card that somebody had purchased this, video in total, has had, nine, million views i've never even on this, channel i've never that's i think more, views than i have on this channel that, you're watching this video on right now, all in one single short so as you can, see these shorts have an opportunity to, go gangbusters and as you can see here, in the chart they usually take a couple, of days in fact this one took you know a, week and a half before it finally, started going crazy i mean it saw 600, 000 in one day and then it's been going, up and down but you know, this algorithm man it's kind of crazy, and you can be rewarded for doing shorts, i'll link to some of these videos below, so that you can see sort of the style of, them we've sort of found a good rhythm, in terms of the particular audience the, pokemon and the collectible audience, that enjoy these kinds of videos but, what's really interesting is this video, in particular it started to reach, audiences that had nothing to do with, pokemon which is what this channel is, about and you started to see comments, like who would pay that much money for a, card anyway or hey grow up well you're, too old to you know play with cartoons, on cardboard so it does a good job of, reaching new audiences but you know some, of those audiences aren't going to, convert they're not going to subscribe, but i will say this video has accounted, for several subscribers check this out, if i click on subscribers, you can see that the number one video, lifetime that has provided the most, subscribers, was in fact this short i mean it did see, 9 million people or 9 million views but, 17 000 new subscribers as a result of, that many people now fans of the channel, because of youtube shorts that being, said the next best video was not a, youtube short in fact this was a 15, minute video, and this has gotten the next best amount, of subscribers crazy game this youtube, shorts thing but it is working for this, channel the d pocket monster channel i, have yet to do shorts here but it is, working on the d pocket monster channel, and, anywhere somebody's teaching tic toc or, instagram reels you want to use those, similar strategies here on youtube, shorts as well now when it comes to the, fun and who gets access to it what i say, 4 million views for 250 bucks this is, going to be a fun that will last for a, couple years they say and i think, there's going to be other ads that are, going to be included and other ways for, creators to make money through shorts, but i will link to this article here, which is a more uh robust article, youtube help article about youtube, shorts and who qualifies for it and all, those kinds of things uh the ages and, the different countries and whatnot how, do you qualify and it really depends on, the performance of your shorts if you, have shorts that are just getting a few, thousand or a few hundred views you're, probably not going to see a bonus but, hey it just takes one video as you saw, to just go crazy to start to then feed, into the other videos which is exactly, what's happening and uh it could be a, pretty cool thing and you can make a, little bit of extra cash but right now, it doesn't seem like shorts is going to, be a big moneymaker just solely for some, people although that being said i do, know that there are some creators who, have seen hundreds of millions of views, on just single videos and i have yet to, see any videos like that but hey you, might be the next one you only got 60, seconds remember be fast tell a good, story and show something visual that'll, keep people watching all the way to the, end and then youtube's gonna help push, it out and create stuff that you know, will turn some heads and get people uh, sharing and
